School and Fall Sports Are In, Keep Orthopedic Injuries Out
Now that kids are back to school and participating in sports, keep these tips in mind:
- Backpacks shouldn’t weigh more than 10 to 20 percent of your child’s body weight.
- The perfect backpack should have two wide, padded shoulder straps, a padded back, and a waist strap, which can help spread the weight evenly.
- Stretching and warm-up is necessary before any play.
- Be sure your child’s equipment fits properly to protect any vulnerable areas during the game.
If your child has recently suffered from an orthopedic injury, we would be happy to help them get back in the game.
We look forward to assisting your Orthopedic and Sports Medicine needs.
